Irish coffee with whipped cream and Irish cookies.

Irish eyes must be smiling because St. Patrick’s Day is almost here! The last year has certainly put us through a lot, but the fact that we’ve made it is certainly cause for celebration. Usually St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated out at a pub, restaurant, or even at a parade. This year that may not be an option for some of us, so we’re sharing a few Irish recipes to try out at home:

  • Cheesy Clover Scones. These cheesy cheddar scones from the Food Network are a fun twist on the traditionally sweet pastry. They’re great for a pre-dinner snack or appetizer and will become a new family favorite in no time!
  • Hearty Irish Pie. While we’re on the topic of turning traditionally sweet recipes into savory meals, we have to include this Irish Stew Pie from Taste of Home. This pie has everything you’d want from a hearty Irish stew only served in a crispy, crumbly, pie crust.
  • Irish Stout Cupcakes. These cupcakes will definitely get you in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit, just remember they should only be enjoyed by adults over 21 years of age. These cupcakes from All Recipes incorporate three classic Irish drinks including crème liqueur, Irish whiskey, and of course Irish stout beer. These will make for a perfect after dinner dessert and drink!
  • Irish Crème Cocktail. In case you were craving just a bit more Irish crème to wash down those cupcakes, these “Irish Encounter” cocktails from The Spruce Eats are described as an Irish version of a piña colada. With this warmer weather we’ve been having, who isn’t craving a good piña colada? Coconut, banana, rum and crème liqueur will be the perfect way to top off your St. Patrick’s Day celebration!
