Girl taking Polaroid photos
Lately, it seems like a lot of vintage trends are coming back in style. More people are showing appreciation for real books rather than reading on a tablet or have gotten into collecting and listening to vinyl records. Polaroid cameras and photos, for example, are also coming back in style.
At GiftWorksPlus, we know that these photos are so unique and add an artistic touch to capturing special moments. That is why we provide plenty of custom frames for polaroid photos in themes like travel frames, sports frames, wedding frames, and family frames for whatever exciting event you have planned this summer. But while these instant photos are fun to take, it can be tricky to keep them looking nice. Here are some tips on how to take and take care of Polaroids, so they stay looking fabulous!
Keep It Chill- Seriously, storing your film in a cool environment, like the fridge, can help slow down chemical aging. Be sure to take the film out about a day or so before you take photos. (Remember, don’t put film in the freezer! This will crack the chemicals…which is something we don’t want.)
Keep Film and Camera Out of Sunlight- Direct sunlight and heat will affect your photos and distort the images and the colors. Some photographers recommend throwing a small ice pack in their camera bag to avoid overheating.
Protect the Photos- Once the photos are taken, the basic rules apply to maintain their clarity. Allow the photos to dry for a few weeks and then store them in a dry place, maybe even a place with little to no natural light to prevent fading.
Handle with Care- Lastly, you’ll want to be sure when handling the photos, they are held by the corners and that they are only being held with clean hands, as skin oils can damage and smudge photos.
At GiftWorksPlus, we know a thing or two about good photography habits. After all, what good would our custom frames be if there was nothing to put into them? So, after you have taken some great photos to commemorate your summer adventures, head over to our website to find the perfect collage photo frame (great for Polaroids) to keep your memories fresh!
