Photography tips

With the growing influence of social media in our lives, it’s becoming more and more important to know how to take great-looking photos. And with the new advances in camera smartphones, it's even easier to capture professional, quality photos. However, there are certain tricks of the photography trade that can help you take better Instagram photos, Facebook photos, or just some nice images to hang around the house.

Here Are Some of Our Favorites Photography Tricks

  1. Mix up your angles! Everyone seems to take photos from straight on, which is not a bad thing but try exploring different angles and camera positions to make a photo more visually interesting! This can also help you capture an image in a different way from what we’re used to seeing! Try standing on chairs or getting closer to the ground to change up your perspective.
  2. Don’t be afraid to shoot through objects! This may need some explaining. Try taking some shots from inside a window or through the leaves of a tree! This can help a photo look more artistic and more candid!
  3. Consider the stability of your shot! If you are using a professional camera, be sure to invest in a nice tripod. If you are strictly into smartphone photography, you may want to try a phone tripod or even using a selfie stick from time to time, despite how silly you may feel using it, you would be surprised at the results and ease of taking a great photo!
  4. Always take more photos than you need! It may seem excessive to take shot after shot of the same image, but taking more photos than necessary will give you even more to choose from. Especially when you're photographing people, you never know when someone may shift slightly, blink, or even sneeze, so it’s best to take more photos to increase your chances of catching an amazing shot!
