Halloween game ideas for the family

Halloween is fast approaching, and if you’re in the process of planning a party, you may be wondering what will keep the kids occupied after trick or treating.

Putting on a movie may not be ideal for kids, especially during a Halloween candy sugar rush. So, we at GiftWorksPlus have compiled a list of Halloween games that will help keep the party going long after the candy has run out, and maybe even burn off some of that excess energy!

6 Fun Halloween Games

  1. Ghost in the Graveyard! This game is PERFECT for Halloween and works best if you have a big yard or a park nearby your house. Just make sure you have flashlights if it gets dark early where you live!
  2. Sardines! This flip-flopped version of hide and seek is great for a Halloween game. It’s another one that can be played outside, but it also works indoors. If you turn the lights off and play some scary music, it quickly turns the classic game into something even more thrilling and suspenseful for Halloween!
  3. Scavenger Hunt! You can use this printable version for clues or you can very easily come up with your own! This game is also great because you can make it easier or more difficult, depending on the age of your kids. Have the hunt lead to more candy, Halloween cupcakes, or fun goodie bags for the guests.
  4. Halloween Charades! Here’s another one that you can make more or less difficult, depending on the audience. Stick with simple things like ghosts or vampires for smaller kids, and for older kids, you can do scary movie characters!
  5. Scary Board Games! These may take a little more focus, but our favorite is still recommended for ages 8 and up! The One Night Werewolf game is easy to understand and fun enough to play multiple rounds!
  6. Mystery Games! Murder mystery parties are fun for adults, but kids like solving mysteries, too! This Halloween Heist game is perfect for players of all ages, but it still involves problem solving, role playing, and story-telling! Definitely a unique and exciting game for a Halloween party!

However you decide to celebrate Halloween this year, you’ll definitely be taking a few pictures of all the fun! Don’t forget the best party favor, second to candy, of course, is a great photo of all the kids in their costumes.
