This year may have thrown us all for a loop, but that certainly hasn’t stopped new babies from arriving! New parents may not be able to celebrate like usual when trying to maintain social distancing, but even without baby showers, there are still plenty of great ways to share in the joy of a newborn baby and show support to the new, happy parents.
Here are some of our favorite ways to reach out!
1. Create Care Packages: Baby showers are typically where parents get a good amount of clothes, toys, and supplies for a new baby, but even without an in-person shower, you can still put together a nice gift.
2. Bring (Or Buy) Them Dinner: New parents may be feeling overwhelmed and taking care of themselves can fall by the wayside. That’s why we suggest making them a home-cooked meal or even ordering their favorite take out and having it delivered!
3. Favor Coupons: This may seem a little childish, but create a coupon book with offers for babysitting, house cleaning, cooking dinner, etc. for the new parents! A lot of the stress of having a new baby is amplified by small everyday tasks that need to get done.
4. Thoughtful Gifts: We all love seeing the cute little baby clothes, shoes, and socks at baby showers, but babies grow so fast, which means those cute little outfits can’t be used for long. Because babies don’t stay babies for long, there is no better gift than a picture frame to hold all the pictures of the baby for years to come!
