Goals for New Year 2021

1) Practice Journaling!

Keeping a journal and writing in it once a day, or even once a week, can help you to better manage stress and anxiety, cope with depression, and better understand your emotions, according to the University of Rochester Medical Center.  In fact, the act of jotting down 5 things you’re grateful for everyday can work wonders in improving your mood.

2) Cut Down on Screen Time! 

According to Mayo Clinic, the recommended screen time daily for adults is two hours. Considering that many jobs require looking at a screen, limiting screen time to two hours a day may prove to be difficult. Try setting times throughout the day of when you can stay off your phone, TV, computer or tablet and instead read, chat with a family member, or play a board game.

3) Try Something New Once a Week!

Trying something new is always exciting and gets you focused on something outside of your typical everyday routine. This doesn’t have to mean going bungee jumping or moving to a new country, although those options would certainly count. Doing something as simple as trying a new recipe, reading a new book, or trying that dance workout you’ve always thought about will help to break up the monotony and teach you something new! 

4) Compliment Someone Every Day!

Ever have one of those days where nothing is going right but then someone says they like your outfit and suddenly you have a little more spring in your step?
