Honor Your Veteran with these Personalized Gifts

November 11th marks Veterans Day, the anniversary of the end of World War I. Formerly known as Armistice Day, the Veterans Day holiday is set aside to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces.

On November 11, 1918, the armistice ending World War I began. The following year, President Woodrow Wilson declared November 11 as Armistice Day in remembrance of this event. In 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower signed a bill to change Armistice Day to Veterans Day in order to include and honor all veterans.

Though Memorial Day and Veterans Day sometimes get confused; Memorial Day is focused on paying tribute to those who have lost their lives serving their country, while the purpose of Veterans Day is to honor both living and dead veterans and taking time to thank living veterans for their service.

And there are plenty of veterans for us to honor! Today, there are roughly 19.3 million veterans in the U.S. 1.6 million are female veterans and around 9.4 million veterans are over the age of 65.
